Creative Critical Reflection for Final Film

     Hey guys, I wanted to write to you all today to explain the filming process for our commercial.   On Monday, October 4, me and my group met together after-school to film our commercial. I had brought the camera that we needed to use as a prop. Originally, Giulia was supposed to bring the camera, but since she forgot, I wen to my Media Studies teacher and was able to borrow one. After school, we walked to our first location to film the last three scenes. I made the decision to film the scenes out of order because the second location, the arch, was closer to us than the first location, Wilton Creamery. Planning Blog: Title design

Hey guys! So the next thing that we discussed as a group was the design for our titles. Here's what we decided on.       Four our film, all of the titles will appear on the screen in the same way. They will suddenly just appear on the screen, very fast and unexpected. The titles will leave the screen in the same way, seeming to blink out of existence. This helps to create that sense of anticipation that we want to carry throughout our opening sequence. All of our titles will also be incorporated into aspects of the setting. For example, we will place titles on top of doors, on a road, or on cabinets to make them seem flush with the environment. This makes it seem like the titles are a part of the film, and help with the cohesiveness of the embedding.       For the majority of the titles, we want them to appear on the screen from anywhere between 2-4 seconds. Almost There!

    Hi everyone! The film has gone through its last few edits and I’m here to tell you all about it. The first thing I did was add some edits to the intro. At first it was too long because the group had filmed some extra shots on another day and added it into the film. I liked the new scenes, but some establishing shots were too long. So, I played those parts through, and when I wanted to cut the clip short, I would split the footage at that point. This allowed me to delete the extra footage that I didn’t want to include.      With that fixed, I moved on to finding a filter that would match the intro. For the film, we have high intensity, gloomy music playing in the intro to create a humerus contrast with the happiness of the radio playing and actor dancing that comes later.
