Planning for my Extra Gum Commercial

Image
Hey guys, I'm back! Today I will be updating you on the planning and ideas that we have for our gum commercial.   Props:   My group decided to film a commercial advertising Extra gum, so the gum will be our main prop. In the commercial, we are planning on having the gum bring together to photography students, so we will also need a digital camera and phones for the project portion, and a skateboard to add character to one of the actors. We will also have a boba drink in the opening scene to show the actor got a drink while waiting for a text.  Costume: Our commercial will feature two high school photography students, so the costumes will need to represent casual, high school attire. The actors will be wearing jeans/khakis with casual t-shirts or sweaters. Sneakers will also be worn by the actors to further the casual look. Schedule: On September 27, 2022 we researched gum commercials to get inspiration and ideas. On September 29, 2022 we began planning our comme...

Research Blog: Commercial Conventions

Hey guys, I'm here to update you on the next portion of our commercial project. As a group, Giulia, Andres and I chose to advertise EXTRA gum. However, before beginning the filming, or even the brainstorming process, we had to figure out what gum commercials typically entail. To do this, we decided to watch some gum commercials to get an idea of what we want to do for our commercial. Interestingly, we found that each commercial portrayed a theme of community.      The first commercial we watched featured a team of baseball players siting in the locker room after a long, tiring game. They were all feeling defeated as they had lost, but one player took out a pack of gum. The gum was passed around, and the players' moods began to change. This gum was able to bring the team back together after a defeating loss, strengthening their bond. This theme of community was most obviously shown through the editing techni...

Group Blog

Hey guys, I'm writing to you today about the group I chose for my first Media project. My group consist of three people, Andres Santana, Giulia Ballarin, and myself (Yasmin Harebin). However, choosing my group was a bit of a confusing process. The three of us originally agreed to work together, but then a few things changed. Andres and I later decided to just work by ourselves, then Andres decided to work with someone else, and I decided to just work with Giulia. Then, after all of the back and forth, the three of us decided to work together on the project.      I think that the three of us will make a great team because we have known each other for most of our lives. I met Andres back in pre-school, and ever since then, we have been best friends. Andres and I do almost everything together, and we have great chemistry. We've worked together many times in the past and are even partners in Debate and Mock Trial. I am so used to ...

Hey guys, its Yasmin Harebin. I'm a tenth grade student at Fort Lauderdale High School and I wanted to make this blog to detail my experiences in AICE Media. But, before taking you  along on my journey, I wanted you to get to know me a bit. I am an only child, but I have a large extended family consisting of over 70 people. One of my favorite things to do is to travel, and I've been traveling ever since I was 9 months old. My favorite country thus far is England, and my favorite city, London. London was actually the first place I've ever visited, as most of my dad's family lives in London. Ever since that first trip, I go back at least once every 2.5 to 3 years, and I have fallen in love with the city. I feel like Europe in general has such a welcoming atmosphere, and that the sense of community and way of life there is very fulfilling. My dream is to move to Europe after college and pursue a career in law there.         Law ...
