    Hey guys, I'm writing to you today about the group I chose for my first Media project. My group consist of three people, Andres Santana, Giulia Ballarin, and myself (Yasmin Harebin). However, choosing my group was a bit of a confusing process. The three of us originally agreed to work together, but then a few things changed. Andres and I later decided to just work by ourselves, then Andres decided to work with someone else, and I decided to just work with Giulia. Then, after all of the back and forth, the three of us decided to work together on the project. 

    I think that the three of us will make a great team because we have known each other for most of our lives. I met Andres back in pre-school, and ever since then, we have been best friends. Andres and I do almost everything together, and we have great chemistry. We've worked together many times in the past and are even partners in Debate and Mock Trial. I am so used to working with him, I thought that it would be good for us to work together again on this project, considering we already know one another, understand how we best work, and have good chemistry. In addition, we respect each other's ideas and opinions and thus work well together.

    I have known Giulia since the 1st grade, and we are very close friends as well. Like Andres, I have already worked in many school projects with her in the past, and we also have a great dynamic. Andres and Giulia met one another in 7th grade, and we have all been close friends ever since. It is because of my close friendship and dynamic with the two that I felt that it would be a good idea to work with one another, especially since we all have similar drives and dedication when it comes to schoolwork. I think that this will be a fun project to work on and I think that the skills of the three of us will compliment one another well. 

    I know Giulia is a great artist and has a creative mind, which will be helpful when brainstorming ideas for our commercial and when creating our storyboard. Andres is technologically inclined, which will be useful when filming and editing our commercial. My strengths are in time management and organization. I feel that our individual strengths all compliment one another and will all be valuable in completing this project. We will be able to learn from one another throughout the process, and hopefully, will be able to create a great final product, and have fun in the process.

     Hey guys, I wanted to write to you all today to explain the filming process for our commercial.   On Monday, October 4, me and my group met together after-school to film our commercial. I had brought the camera that we needed to use as a prop. Originally, Giulia was supposed to bring the camera, but since she forgot, I wen to my Media Studies teacher and was able to borrow one. After school, we walked to our first location to film the last three scenes. I made the decision to film the scenes out of order because the second location, the arch, was closer to us than the first location, Wilton Creamery. Planning Blog: Title design

Hey guys! So the next thing that we discussed as a group was the design for our titles. Here's what we decided on.       Four our film, all of the titles will appear on the screen in the same way. They will suddenly just appear on the screen, very fast and unexpected. The titles will leave the screen in the same way, seeming to blink out of existence. This helps to create that sense of anticipation that we want to carry throughout our opening sequence. All of our titles will also be incorporated into aspects of the setting. For example, we will place titles on top of doors, on a road, or on cabinets to make them seem flush with the environment. This makes it seem like the titles are a part of the film, and help with the cohesiveness of the embedding.       For the majority of the titles, we want them to appear on the screen from anywhere between 2-4 seconds. Short Film Research: (Buried Treasure/Mystery)

     Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!. I am continuing to research short films and their conventions. I am reviewing short films that follow my genre to learn about conventions I would need to use for my short film. As the genre I am using is mystery, I am going to be watching mystery short films. In this blog I am going to research the mystery short film, “Buried Treasure”. I was able to find this short film option on YouTube.       When the film opens, the music is the first thing once again that I notice. This music is different though from the last movie I reviewed. The difference was that this music got louder progressively as the opening of the short film continued. The lighting is the same though. I notice the dark lighting. The dark lighting creates a very deep shadow and puts spotlights on certain aspects.
