Almost There!

    Hi everyone! The film has gone through its last few edits and I’m here to tell you all about it. The first thing I did was add some edits to the intro. At first it was too long because the group had filmed some extra shots on another day and added it into the film. I liked the new scenes, but some establishing shots were too long. So, I played those parts through, and when I wanted to cut the clip short, I would split the footage at that point. This allowed me to delete the extra footage that I didn’t want to include.      With that fixed, I moved on to finding a filter that would match the intro. For the film, we have high intensity, gloomy music playing in the intro to create a humerus contrast with the happiness of the radio playing and actor dancing that comes later. It creates this shock for the audience because from the intro you would think something sinister is going to happen, but then you see this happy setting of a man cooking dinner for his...

Changing for the Better

    Hey guys! Time to fill you in on the next part of the editing process. I was in charge of most of the final edits that needed to be added to the film. The first thing I did was fix the speed of some parts of the film. For example, for the portion where the character first started getting flashbacks, I wanted to add some effects to make the footage seem distorted. This would help emphasize the idea that there was something wrong with the character's reality. To do this, I first edited the portion of the footage where there was a dutch angle. What I did was slow down that footage, and then I played around with some extra effects. I thought I had found the perfect effect, where the colors of the video blurred together, but then I realized I could not use it because it was only available to CapCut subscribers.
