The Last Step Before Production: Storyboard

Hey guys! So the next step of the music video process was to storyboard our video. The following is the different scenes that we storyboarded.

 First Scene -

In the first opening scene, the camera will be set up from the passenger seat inside of the car. It will face the driver’s seat as a medium long shot. Prior to the song beginning to play, the main character - (who will be known as Person A), will enter the car from the driver’s door looking both exhausted and overwhelmed. Person A will then reach for the power button for the radio in the car and turn it on.

Second Scene -

Maintaining the same medium long shot, Person A continues to try and get themselves together, resting their head on the steering wheel in distress.

Third Scene -

As the song fades in, the camera will pan to the car radio to show what song is playing. The car screen will display the song title, “Attracted To You,” along with the artist’s name, PinkPantheress, and the time. The camera will zoom into the screen at this point.

Fourth Scene -

As the first verse of the song approaches and begins, the camera will pan back from the car stereo, this time at a faster speed, to face the driver's seat and Person A once more as a medium long shot. Person A will then abruptly lift their head from the steering wheel and face the camera, lip syncing to the song.

Fifth Scene -

When the line, “it was just another blip in my heart” from the song plays, Person A will turn, exit the car and shut the door, phone in hand. The camera will not move positions for this scene.

Sixth Scene -

The camera will now jump cut to Person A standing outside in front of the driver’s seat door. This will be a medium closeup of person A, as well as a tracking shot as they begin to walk forwards. Person A will have flowers in one hand, and their phone to their ear as if making a call while singing the next couple lines.

Seventh Scene -

As Person A nears the door, though it cannot be seen within frame, they will stop talking. Once the sixth line of the song is reached, the arm holding the phone will drop and swing to Person A’s side and the person will shrug, emphasizing the flowers they’re holding instead. This will all be shot as a medium closeup. This scene will fade out.

Eighth scene -

This scene will fade in, being shot in a bedroom. The scene will transition smoothly because the camera will be set from the same distance, at a medium closeup shot, to match the fourth scene. Person A will have their phone in their hand and in their lap, though it might be out of frame. As soon as Person A begins to lip sync, the camera will gently back out to a low angle from the foot of bed to allow at least some of the phone to fit within frame. The camera and persona A will be perfectly centered from the bed, sitting criss cross in pjs. Person A will then look down at their phone in their hands at the very end of this scene.

Ninth scene -

When the lines “back at the start” from the song play, there will be an insert of what person A is looking at, which is old text receipts between them and the other person.

Tenth scene

As the lines “back at the start” continue to repeat, the camera will jump cut to a high angle of person A. Person A will fall back onto the bed entering the frame as soon as the scene begins, phone covering face.

Eleventh scene

In the eighth scene, the phone will begin from a high angle, nearly identical to that of the seventh scene. This will transition from the last scene to a park setting. Person A will be in the same exact position, this time in the grass and dressed in different clothes. This is also shot as a medium long shot.

Twelfth scene -

As the last few lyrics off the song play out, the hand holding the phone in hand falls to side

and the camera will back into the sky, farther and farther from Person A until it can be established as a long shot.

Now that we've storyboarded the scene, our next step will be to begin the actual production process. I'm so excited!
