I'm Back!
Hey guys, I'm back! You haven't heard from me in a while, as I haven't blogged since I finished my AICE Media AS Level Class. I had a long and relaxing summer break and am now back in AICE Media, but this time, it's A Level Media. I'm so excited to be back and blogging for you all, and I know there will be some great videos that I will work on this year.
However, I'm getting a little bit ahead of myself. I know many of you guys have been following my blogs for a while now, over a year, but I'm sure there are a few newcomers this time around. Let me introduce myself.
My name is Yasmin Harebin, and I'm a junior in high school. On this blog, I update you all on my experiences in AICE Media class and fill you in on everything I learn along the way. I began this class in my sophomore year, but at first I wasn't sure I would be very interested in it. That's because I hadn't had much experience with filming and editing, and I didn't consider myself a creative person. I was more interested in classes like history and law, but a lot of my friends were taking AICE Media, and many teachers recommended the class to me, so I decided to take it.
I am so happy I made this decision because AICE Media has become one of my favorite classes. I have found that I enjoy directing videos and find it to be so intriguing that there are so many small components that can really bring a video to life. In my first year, I've created a commercial, a music video, and an opening sequence, all of which taught me so much. This year, I am tackling a more daunting task, creating a 5 minute short film, but I am ready to give it my all.
Now, before you follow along with me on this next part of my AICE Media journey, I want to tell you a little about myself. I love to travel and have been traveling ever since I was 9 months old. My favorite place I've traveled to is London, where I have a lot of family. We travel there often, and each visit is better than the last! Another place I love to visit is Chicago, and I actually hope to move there in the future and practice law.
Law is another one of my passions. I am very thankful to be in a program at my school where we get to learn all about how to develop the necessary skills to become a successful lawyer. I am also part of my school's mock trial team, and I have loved being so involved in programs that will help me so much in the future. If I do end up pursuing a career in law, I would want to be a civil lawyer, as I feel that I would enjoy that area of law most. However, if I don't end up being a civil lawyer, I would likely pursue a career in business or finance, as those are two other areas that interest me.
Now that you've gotten to know a little more about me, I hope that you will stay with me as I continue my second year in AICE Media. I can't wait to get started on the short film, and I'm sure this project will be even more fun than the last. See you guys next time!
